218C is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by
or supported by Buchla, and the name is used only to say which
instrument it fits. No Buchla firmware is distributed here: you bring your
own, and the patch is applied in your browser.
It comes with no warranty of any kind. You are modifying an
instrument you own, at your own risk.
It offers new modes of operation, a web app and expanded features. It works only for the 218E REV 2, and it never ships a Buchla image: you bring your own factory firmware, the patch is applied on your machine.
Everything in this manual is measured on the instrument or read in the firmware. Where something is predicted but not yet measured, it says so.
All six knobs read zero in memory: none has been touched since power-on. Their cells only fill on the first movement. Move each knob once to wake it.
On fake frames nothing of the 218e is simulated: the generator makes plausible values to exercise the display. A curve that looks right here proves nothing about the instrument. Drag a knob to move it.
